Special election announcement
Waco’s Texas State Representative, Doc Anderson, resigned from the Texas House of Representatives on August 15, 2022 and Governor Abbott has ordered a Special Election to fill the remainder of his term. This election will take place on November 5th, simultaneously with the General Election. On August 21, 2024 I officially submitted my Special Election Application.
That means you’ll be voting for Erin Shank twice in one day on two separate ballots. Erin will be on the General Election ballot with all of the other candidates. However, you will also be given a separate, second ballot on November 5th and can vote for Erin again that same day on the Special Election ballot so that she can serve out the remaining two months of Doc Anderson’s current term.
Please make sure you check your voter registration, register before October 7th, and make a plan to vote during Early Voting from October 21 - November 1, or on Election Day on November 5th.
